Scent The Scene®

Close your eyes and follow the warm, irresistible aroma drifting through the midway. The fairground is alive with laughter and excitement, whilst somewhere nearby a little pretzel cart is serving freshly baked, golden twists sprinkled with salt. You take one in your hands, feeling its comforting warmth through your fingertips before gently tearing it apart, revealing soft, doughy warmth within. The delicious scent of freshly baked pretzel rises as you take that first bite, mingling with the glow of the rides and the cheerful hum of the crowd. For a moment, nothing else matters — just the warmth in your hands, the salt on your fingertips and the simple joy of a freshly baked treat beneath the fairground lights.

Fun Fact

It was the Victorians, way back in the nineteenth century, who were the first to really fall in love with fairgrounds.

In mid-19th century England, the carousel became a popular fixture at fairs. The first steam-powered mechanical roundabout, invented by Thomas Bradshaw, appeared at the Pot Market fair in Bolton in about 1861. Back then (and much like even today), an evening at the fairground wasn't complete without a go on the carousels and these famous galloping horses are one of the earliest examples of a fairground ride that are still in operation.

Treat Yourself

At The Candle Carousel, feel-good fun is at the very core of every one of our candles with child-like wonder being released every time you light the wick. We believe that every one has an inner child that needs to be nurtured and our nostalgic scents are designed to do just that.
