Fun Fact
The tradition of decorating eggs at Easter dates back more than 1,000 years. In medieval times, eggs were often forbidden during Lent, so when Easter Sunday arrived, they became a joyful symbol of celebration and new beginnings. People would paint and decorate them in bright spring colours to mark the end of winter and the start of lighter, longer days.
The chocolate egg didn’t appear until the 19th century, when European confectioners (particularly in France and Germany) began crafting hollow chocolate shells as a luxurious seasonal treat.
Today, millions are enjoyed each year but the meaning remains the same: renewal, joy, and a little indulgence to welcome spring. 🌸🍫
